Donor support for the Building Better campaign is an essential investment in transforming the health and wellbeing of the next generation of families in Atlanta and the entire Southeast.

Piedmont must expand to meet the demands resulting from explosive population growth and the changing healthcare landscape. To continue to bring the best technology, talent, and capacity to our region, Piedmont is embarking on a 10-year expansion at Piedmont Atlanta to better serve the entire metropolitan area and to continue to be a center of excellence for all of the Southeastern United States.

A new, 16-floor tower will house up to 408 beds and 13 new operating rooms, for a 22% increase in Piedmont Atlanta’s capacity to care for patients and the community. The growth begins with the establishment of the Marcus Heart and Vascular Center through the generosity of philanthropist Bernie Marcus and The Marcus Foundation. This state-of-the-art facility will help Piedmont fight the region’s epidemic of heart disease and affirm Piedmont’s reputation as a destination center for cardiovascular care.

But heart care is only the beginning. This state of the art facility will also enable critical expansions of other key healthcare service lines.

Supported by our three-year, $150 million Building Better campaign, our goal is the highest quality, integrated, patient-centered care for all patients who walk through Piedmont’s doors. The new facilities will enable expansions not only to inpatient capacity, but to patient outreach, community wellness and community health education.

From operating room suites and cardiac catheterization labs to the hospital entrance and a family lounge, you can leave your permanent mark on Piedmont Atlanta Tower. We look forward to showing you how your generosity will enable Piedmont to continue doing what it does best: serve with excellence and make a positive difference in every life we touch.

“Piedmont’s ratings prove that it can deliver the type of care that makes Atlanta attractive and viable for economic growth. Let us not take for granted this economic engine which is secondary to serving patients.”

–  Philanthropist Bernie Marcus, supporting Piedmont’s establishment of the Marcus Heart and Vascular Center
